Arginine plays an important role in the body, participating in the synthesis of proteins, urea, creatinine, nitric oxide, glutamine and pyrimidine. Therefore, its supplements are useful in the treatment of liver diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases (including IBD) and diabetes. Arginine is an essential amino acid for cats, so its deficiency can lead to serious health consequences and even death within a few days.

Alpha-ketoglutaric acid participates in the Krebs cycle and is also a precursor for the formation of l-glutamine. Arginine, in turn, is a protein amino acid involved in several metabolic processes, including the synthesis of protein, creatine and nitric oxide.

Arginine is the most basic amino acid, with a pH of 10.56 to 12.5. Lyophilized arginine is odorless, white crystals that are soluble in water. Approximately 40% of dietary arginine is degraded during absorption in the small intestinal mucosa, while the remainder is delivered to the liver.

Preparation: Dissolve the measured dose in a small amount of fresh, cool water and add to the feed, preferably in the morning.

For dry food, moisten the feed or administer the diluted dose orally in a small amount of water.

Dosage: (unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian or nutritionist)

CATS: up to 5 kg body weight: 0.5 g per day for each additional kg of body weight: 0.g per day.

DOGS: up to 5 kg body weight: 0.2 g per day for each additional 5 kg - 0.2 g per day.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage. When using L-arginine supplements, especially when administered via drinking water, the dietary intake of all essential and conditionally essential amino acids should be taken into account to prevent nutritional imbalances.
